Welcome to St. Dominic Catholic School! The visual arts curriculum at St. Dominic integrates Mobile Archdiocesan Art Standards and Alabama Art Standards with many disciplines: Catholic faith, math, language arts, social studies, science, and other arts. Through weekly art classes, students expand their knowledge of the elements and principles of art and apply these concepts into aesthetically pleasing two and three dimensional artworks utilizing a variety of art media, techniques, and processes. Students are exposed to authentic cultural studies, famous artists, artworks, and art styles.
Mrs. Debora Castelin attended St. Dominic, McGill-Toolen, and Spring Hill College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts-Business. Mrs. Castelin is passionate about sharing our Catholic faith through art and began her career in art education at St. Dominic in 2007. She serves on the school Vocations Committee and hosts the annual Religious Vocations Awareness Day with activities that embrace God’s Call, student art exhibit, and visits with religious guests from the Archdiocese of Mobile. Mrs. Castelin also exhibits student art on campus for our school community and during Catholic Schools Week for our local community.
So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor 13:13)
