High School CYO
As someone who grew up just over a half mile from Saint Dominic, on Holly Springs Drive, this parish has always been a significant part of my life. Along with three of my brothers, I attended Saint Dominic from Kindergarten through 8th grade, finishing up in 2008. Afterward, I continued my Catholic education at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, graduating in 2012, and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Accountancy from Mississippi State University in 2016. Following my time in college, I lived and worked in Mississippi and Tennessee, but in 2021, I felt the pull to return home to Mobile. Today, I work for Alabama Shipyard, and I live in downtown Mobile.
Throughout high school, I was deeply involved in both Campus Ministry at McGill-Toolen and the Youth Ministry program at Saint Dominic under the guidance of Joanne Upton. It has been the source of many fond memories and lasting relationships, and more importantly, it has been integral to my faith formation. In my experience, there are elements present in Youth Ministry that Catholic Education simply cannot achieve in a classroom setting. I am excited to step into the role of Director of Youth Ministry and to offer the same enriching experiences to the young men and women of my childhood parish.
I am blessed to have the support of my fiancée, Bayleigh Thompson, who also grew up in the Burma Road area. Like me, Bayleigh attended Saint Dominic, finishing in 2009, followed by McGill-Toolen in 2013.
