Angels on a Mission

Angels on a Mission is a service club for 5th thru 8th graders of our parish. We have one or two activities monthly, either after school or on weekends. For those attending St. Dominic, a newsletter is sent via the Wednesday folders. For students of other schools, I send a newsletter through the CCD classes or by mail. If you are currently not a member, but would like to join, give me a call.

March 2010
MARC Easter Party (Mobile Area Retarded Citizens)

Saturday, March 20th
Meet at St. Dominic church parking lot at 10:45a.m.
We’ll go by bus to the Semmes MARC homes (next door to each other).
Return: 2:00 p.m.

While there, we will share pizza and dessert, play games, and dance with the residents.  There will only be 16 men at this party, so I’d like to buy them another outdoor game to share between the two homes. This party is a BLAST!  You don’t want to miss it.

Please complete this form and return it (along with donations, except for brownies) by next Tuesday so I’ll know what (and how much) to buy.  I will send permission slips next week.

I will get a little sugar-free candy for the diabetic living there. If anyone has some good dance CDs, please bring them with you.

This Saturday, the Little Tree Preschool is having a 5K Run/Walk through St. Dominic’s neighborhood, starting at 8:00 a.m.  They have asked if we would set up a water station in front of the school.  It’s easy to do and won’t take much time.
I need about 5 Angels to stay and hand out water to runners from 8:00 a.m. to about 9:30.  Just send me a note telling me you’re willing to help.

Next week, you will also receive info on our annual Rake and Run that will take place on Sunday, March 28th (1:00 – 4:00).  Go ahead and put it on your calendar.  I’ll need several parents for this project. Please complete this form if you plan to participate.

And the last project we will have before Easter is cleaning classrooms again on Holy Thursday.  The teachers were so pleased with our last effort  that this will become a quarterly activity.  So, count on helping right after school April 1st.
