The first half of the school year is history and the second half of the school year has begun. Middle school students survived the end of the semester exams. However, they need to remember it will happen again at the end of the second semester. Please remind them to save all flashcards and notes. It saves a lot of time to have them ready when the end of the year studying starts.
Eighth graders will be getting ready to leave us and move on to high school. In order to help the transition, some changes will be happening for them this semester. High school does not usually give second looks on tests or let the students leave the classroom to take the tests. This quarter the teachers and I encourage the eighth grade students to stay in the classroom for quizzes. The last quarter they should not need to come to the resource room for any tests unless the classroom teacher feels it is needed. My goal is to have the students ready to tackle high school by the end of this May.
